European Commission Framework Programme V – European Male Ageing Study: Prevalence, incidence and geographical distribution of symptoms of ageing in men and their endocrine, genetic and psychosocial correlated. €6,100,000 over 7.5 years from January 2002. Forty percent of this grant is awarded to the University of Manchester. January 2002 - March 2009. Organon International bv - A phase IIb open-label trial investigating the efficacy, safety and pharmacokinetics of subcutaneous ORG3236 rods combined with intramuscular testosterone undecaoate for male contraception. £133,478 over two years. Started October 2003, completed 2006. Effects of testosterone on muscle function, physical performance, body composition and quality of life in frail elderly men, Schering AG - £659,390 over 3 years - with J Oldham and M Connolly. September 2004 – August 2007 The human serum metabolome in health and disease, BBSRC-LINK Applied Genomics Programme Grant - £3.9 million over 4 years with D Kell, G Goodacre, JK Cruickshank, N Purandare, A Burns, G Jayson, Astra-Zeneca and GSK. January 2005 – December 2009 World Health Organisation – Sperm suppression and contraceptive protection provided by norethisterone-enanthate plus testosterone undecanoate in normal men £270,000 over three years (to commence in Jan 2008 – Jan 2011)
