Dr. Belker is a Clinical Professor in the Division of Urology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky. He was one of the first urologists to perform microsurgical vasovasostomy and vasoepididymostomy and has taught numerous courses regarding these procedures over the last 20 years. He was the first urologist in the United States to perform percutaneous testicular aspiration to obtain sperm for in vitro fertilization with intracytoplasmic sperm injection. He has served on the editorial boards of both the journal of Andrology and Microsurgery and as an editorial consultant or reviewer for the Journal of Urology, Fertility and Sterility, UROLOGY, and The international Journal of Andrology. He has served as president of the American Society of Andrology, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction and as chairman of the Male Reproduction/Urology Committee of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Belker has been the author of over 50 articles and of 18 chapters and has made scientific presentations in many countries thuoughouyt the world.
