Editorial Board

Ronald S Swerdloff

Ronald S. Swerdloff, MD, is Associate Chair, Department of Medicine, and Chief of the Division of Endocrinology at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, in Torrance. He is Director of the Mellon Center for Men’s Health, World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Research in Human Reproduction, and a National Institutes of Health Contraceptive Clinical Trials Center.

Dr. Swerdloff received his medical degree from the University of California, in San Francisco. He completed an internship and a residency in medicine at the University of Washington, in Seattle, and UCLA School of Medicine. He received endocrinology training at the National Institutes of Health and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Swerdloff’s research interests are the regulation of spermatogenesis, male contraception, and androgen action and drug development.

Dr. Swerdloff has written numerous publications, including journal articles, books, abstracts, reviews, and book chapters. His recent journal articles discuss hormonal male contraception and testosterone therapy and are published in the Journal of Andrology, The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and the Lancet. Dr. Swerdloff has served as editor, editorial board member, and reviewer for many journals, such as Endocrinology, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Journal of Clinical Investigation.

Dr. Swerdloff is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is a past president of a number of societies, including the American Andrology Society. He is also on the Scientific Advisory Committee for the Klinefelter’s Syndrome Association.
