Dr. Castanas studied Medicine at the University of Athens (Doctorate of Medicine) and Biological Sciences at the University of Aix-Marseille II in France (PhD in Biochemistry and Doctorate in Science) where he specialized in Endocrinology and Biochemistry-Clinical Chemistry. Dr. Castanas is currently a Professor of Experimental Endocrinology, at the University of Crete Medical School and Director of the Endocrinology Laboratory at the University Hospital of Heraklion in Crete.
