Specialties and Research Scopes During the past three decades, Prof. Wei was specialized in the clinical treatment and basic researches of malignancies, minimally invasive surgery, prostate disease, clinical epidemiology and evidence-based medicine in urology. To date, more than 50 related academic articles have been overtly published, and six have been included by SCI. Furthermore, over 10 textbooks for undergraduates and graduates have also been completed by Prof. Wei. He has been in charge of multiple clinical and basic researches, including 2 national Natural Science Fund projects and one Chinese Ministry of Health Fund. Total experimental expense has been accumulated over 1,000,000 RMB. As one of the earliest sponsors and participators in clinical epidemiology and evidence-based medicine in urology, Prof. Wei participated in training professionals in evidence-based medicine and drafted several textbooks on clinical epidemiology and evidence-based medicine. In April, 2001, supported by China-Australia academic exchange fund, Prof. Wei completed a systematic meta-analysis about antibiotic prophylaxis in patients undergoing TURP in Australia. In 2003, Prof. Wei was invited to make a series of lectures about practicing evidence-based medicine in urology in Chinese Journal of Urology. Due to his excellent contribution in Urology and Clinical epidemiology, Prof. Wei has been awarded three times prizes for progress in Science and Technology of Sichuan Province and one time prize of Ministry of Education of China. |
