The American Center for Reproductive Medicine, part of the Glickman Urological Institute (ranked as #1 or #2 Urology Program out of 4,667 hospitals in the country by the US News and World Report) is currently looking for an independent and highly motivated post-doctoral/early career researcher interested in molecular biology and ‘OMICS’ research.
The primary focus of our research is to identify and validate candidate protein biomarkers that are unique tospecific etiologies of male infertility. Ouremphasis is to elucidate possible mechanisms that linkthese potential biomarkers to a particular pathophysiology and eventually to the genetic/epigenetic
factors that predispose an individual to infertility.
Position description:
A solid background and 2 to 3 years of prior experience in reproductive research and/or proteomics and
bioinformatics research is considered as a key advantage. Candidates with a PhD in Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics orBiotechnology (with a background in Proteomics/Genomics and bioinformatics) are strongly urged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with2-3 first authored research publications in high impact international journals and evidence of independent external funding. The position as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist is available for 3 year from 2016 onwards and may be extended for another 2 year based on performance, competence, productivity and funding. Eligibility:
Applicants should qualify for the TOEFL test in order to apply for this position. Selected candidate will be sponsored for a J-1 visa and dependents on J-2.
Benefits:
- Salary range for early to mid-career scientist is from USD 32,000 to 45,000 per annum (Fellowship is non-taxable per US laws)
- Medical and disability insurance: Candidate will receive health and other fringe benefits as per institutional guidelines. The current cost of these benefits for an individual is $6,400 and for family $10,000 to 17,500 per annum. The premium will be paid by the sponsoring department.
- Scientific Meeting: Candidate who has their research paper selected for presentation as a first author will be sponsored for travel to one national scientific meeting per year with maximum coverage of up to $1,500.
